GKS-U 2025 · Embassy Track شفاء قرمش

Hi, I'm Shefa.

A Palestinian student carrying a small piece of home with me to Korea. I'm a 2025 Global Korea Scholarship awardee heading to Hanyang University to study Industrial Engineering. This is where I share a bit of the journey from فلسطين to 한국.

About

I'm Shefa Qarmash — Palestinian, and a 2025 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS-U) awardee through the Embassy Track, accepted to study Industrial Engineering at Hanyang University. Before starting my degree, I'll spend a year on the mandatory Korean language program — excited for both the linguistic deep-dive and the engineering ahead.

I'm drawn to industrial engineering because it sits at the intersection of systems, people, and decisions — figuring out how things can work better, faster, more humanely. Coming from a place where resilience and ingenuity are inherited, that lens feels natural.

This page is a small public record of what I'm learning along the way — from فلسطين to Seoul.
